Even after his wife "pressured" him to quit.
"Quitting smoking didn't create 'huge withdrawal symptoms,' the Illinois senator said, partly because he smoked only seven or eight cigarettes a day at his peak."
His advice for those trying to quit:
"'Eliminate certain key connections -- that first cigarette in the morning, or after a meal, or with a drink," he said. "If you can eliminate those triggers, that should help.'"
Of course, I wouldn't take his advice if I were you. He hasn't really quit.
"Obama said he's bummed a cigarette a couple of times during the campaign."
He doesn't see anything wrong with that, though.
"'But I figure, seeing as I'm running for president, I need to cut myself a little slack,' he said."
Um, no the hell you can't! You're running for PRESIDENT. That means you have to be held at a higher standard. On second thought, go ahead and cut yourself some slack, Barry, because I sure as hell am not. You pathetic addict. If you can't even quit cigarettes, you are not strong enough to run this country. You do not have the free will and drive necessary for the job.
